Wyndham now has two resorts in San Antonio, Texas. One of those is Wyndham Riverside Suites, located right on the historic River Walk of San Antonio. This is a unique location for Wyndham Resorts for a couple of reasons. For one thing, there are no onsite amenities or activities. The area itself provides those. Secondly, this resort is an historic building purchased by Wyndham and converted into a fine resort. The resort building was constructed in 1928 and then totally renovated in 2000.

With no onsite amenities, what does this resort offer? Why would one want to rent a timeshare here? In a word—Location! Location! Location! It is a prime and highly sought-after location by Wyndham owners simply because of its surroundings. Walk our and around the resort and you are on the River Walk, or the “Paseo del Rio.” It is three miles of charming cobblestone and flagstone paths winding through lush green foliage along both sides of the San Antonio River. You will find art galleries, theaters, sidewalk cafes, nightclubs, bistros, boutiques and restaurants. Or, if you prefer, view it all from the deck of one of the many river tour boats which float lazily through the river’s twists and turns. It’s an enjoyable ride, good for merely relaxing after walking the banks for a few hours.

Just off the River, within easy walking distance, you will find Texas’ most famous landmark, the Alamo. Nearby is the Majestic Theater, one of the nation’s last vintage vaudeville palaces, and now a national historic landmark and home of the San Antonio Symphony, plays and concerts. Climb the 700-foot Tower of the Americas. Visit the San Antonio Zoo and discover 3,500 animals representing 750 species, plus global aquatic life. It is considered one of the nation’s premier zoological facilities.

Although not on the River Walk, Wyndham has a second resort in San Antonio: La Cascada. This resort is less than two blocks from the River Walk, and thus has all the same attractions for your entertainment. Plus you will have amenities such as the rooftop swimming pool and sun deck that soars high. There’s a recreation room for kid-time fun, a computer library for games and emailing and an onsite convenience store and deli.

From either of the resorts you can drive to SeaWorld or Six Flags Fiesta Texas, for seasonal fun, spring through fall. San Antonio also offers lakes with all the associated fun (fishing, boating, windsurfing, etc.), golf, tennis, horseback riding, parks, miniature golf, biking and so much more. A vacation in San Antonio is good for the entire family, or just a romatic getaway.
